What is CES?
CES is an annual trade show, held in Las Vegas Convention Center, which hosts presentations of new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry. CES is described as "the most powerful tech event in the world" and "the Global Stage for Innovation". This year, there was 135,000+ attendees and 4300+ exhibitors.
Last month, I attended CES with electronRx, between January 9th-12th, as an exhibitor. It was an amazing opportunity for my personal growth, as well as a great opportunity to showcase our groundbreaking technology which is transforming healthcare and helps treat disease.
What did I design?
Booth Design:
As we were attending to exhibit, the most important part of this project was to design a stand. With this brief, I was tasked to create a stand which is head turning and eye catching. As mentioned previously, there were 4300+ exhibitors at CES, so it was crucial to have the stand design perfect, in order to attract a large and relevant audience.

From researching about our competitors in the Digital Health sector, it seemed that a large majority of companies, including electronRx, have blue as their primary colour. Noticing this pattern was very important, because we then decided it would be more appropriate to use our product colours, which was light and dark green. Our stand being green definitely helped us stand out against the blue stands surrounding us.
Square Cards:

Another task was to design 4 cards, relevant to our current projects. These included a brief slogan on the specific product, as well as a QR code leading to a relevant landing page providing more information, and a contact form to continue the conversation after the event. It was important that these designs were high quality and eye catching, because it was certain that the attendee's of CES were going to collect a range of collateral like this from a range of different companies, including our competitors, so it was crucial that these stood out and were appealing.
Personal Development:
Firstly, it is important to highlight how big of an achievement it is for me to attend CES and represent our company. Having such a great opportunity, whilst only being a full-time Graphic Designer/Creative Marketing Assistant for a year proves that hard work and dedication can pay off!

Designing the stand, as well of the other important collateral, was definitely a big task, with high pressure to design to a great standard, in a fixed time frame. This task has definitely proven that I am a hardworking individual, who creates professional and high-quality design under high pressure.
It was extremely inspiring to walk around CES and see the new innovative technology, ranging from robot pets to drone soccer, and analyse how I could improve my design approach for events, if/when I design a booth again. It was a great opportunity to network from a range of different individuals around the world.
Recognising that I am early on in my career, I believe that it is important to say "yes" to any opportunities which come my way, as long as I am comfortable and confident that I can perform to a high standard. Attending CES improved my confidence significantly, both outside and inside of the working environment. I recognised a huge development in myself throughout the event, particularly when confidently holding conversations with senior members of huge corporations, potential partners and investors, discussing how our technology can revolutionise healthcare and why they should collaborate with electronRx.
